What can we expect to see at the festival for 2024?
We are very excited to announce that we are going back to our pre-COVID-19 format, presentations being held indoors and outdoors on the Macomb Community College Center Campus, and keeping the virtual water festival the following day! After arriving and checking in for the festival, your class will be led by a volunteer guide to visit three different sessions led by various water and environmental professionals. Students will be engaged at each session by a variety of hands-on learning activities and will focus on diverse subjects related to water that might include, water conservation, water usage, recreational usage, water quality, aquatic ecosystems, water pollution and many other topics of interest.

Will different classes see the same presentations?
We have 20-30 presenters at each festival and so it is likely that classes from the same school will see different presentations. This gives your students an opportunity to experience numerous topics on water. We encourage classes to share their experiences with one another.

What happened in 2020 due to COVID19 and how did that impact future water festivals since that time?
In 2020 the Lake St. Clair Water Festival (LSCWF) was canceled but we were able to send recorded presentations to the teachers that had signed up that year. Prizes for the 2020 drawing contest were delivered to the winners in June 2020.
The LSCWF went virtual in 2021 with a teacher guide being sent to those who signed up. The 2021 drawing contest prizes were delivered to winners in June 2021.
In 2022, the LSCWF came back to the Macomb Community College campus but was held only outdoors with a virtual day offered the next day for those unable to attend. Prizes were given in person for the winners who were able to attend the water festival and delivered to those students who were unable to attend in person.
We went back to our traditional format with indoor and outdoor presentations for the 2023 LSCWF. Due to the positive response the past two years, we continued to host a virtual day following the LSCWF for those who could not attend in person. The drawing contest winners were able to receive their prizes at the water festival.
